You do not need to arrive knowing how to pose or worry that your children will not cooperate. I will guide your family when direction is helpful while leaving room for the genuine expressions and interactions that make your family recognizable as your own.
Your Family Does Not Need to Perform
Children do not need to stand still, smile on command or maintain perfect behavior throughout the session.
Some children warm up immediately. Others need time to explore, play or observe before they feel comfortable. We work with their personalities rather than treating normal childhood behavior as a problem.
I will create opportunities for polished, camera-facing portraits while also photographing movement, laughter, affection and the smaller moments that happen between poses.
The goal is not a gallery in which every person looks perfect in every frame. The goal is to preserve what it feels like to belong to one another.

Outdoor Family Sessions
Outdoor sessions take advantage of the desert landscape, mountain views and soft evening light. These sessions provide room for children to move and are particularly well suited to families who want a mixture of polished and natural photographs.
Because the desert can be extremely hot, session times and locations are chosen carefully. Certain locations may only be appropriate during cooler months or near sunrise and sunset.
Studio Family Sessions
Studio sessions offer a controlled, private environment with consistent lighting. They work well for smaller families, milestone portraits and families who prefer a clean, polished look.
In-Home Family Sessions
An in-home session can preserve your family in the place where everyday life happens. Your home does not need to be perfectly decorated or spotlessly clean. We select the spaces that photograph well and leave the rest outside the frame.
What Should We Wear?
The most important goal is coordination rather than perfect matching.
Choose colors and textures that work together without placing every family member in the same outfit. Soft neutrals, muted colors and layered textures generally create a cohesive look while allowing each person to retain some individuality.

Your family’s clothing should support the photographs—not become the entire focus of them.
What If My Children Do Not Cooperate?
That is pretty much what children do, and that is completely acceptable.
A successful family session does not require perfect behavior. Children may need breaks, movement, reassurance or time with a parent. Some of the most meaningful photographs happen after we stop asking a child to smile and allow them to connect naturally.
Please do not feel that you need to apologize for your child or continuously correct normal behavior during the session. I will guide you when I need help and adjust the pace when your child needs something different.
Avoid promising children that the session will be over if they produce one perfect smile. That can unintentionally make every remaining photograph feel like an obstacle. Instead, describe the session as time to play, cuddle and take photographs together.
Mothers Belong in the Photographs
Mothers are often the historians of their families and the people most likely to be missing from the visual record.
You may be waiting to lose weight, change your hair, feel less tired or become more comfortable in front of a camera. Meanwhile, your children are continuing to grow.
Your children will not study these photographs looking for the things you criticize about yourself. They will see the person who held them, comforted them, laughed with them and made them feel safe.
You deserve to exist in your family’s photographs now—not only after you feel ready.
Can We Bring Our Pets?
Yes, pets may be included when the location, session type and animal’s temperament make participation appropriate.
Please tell me about your pet before the session so we can plan safely. Consider bringing a second adult who can manage the animal when it is not being photographed, along with treats, water and any necessary leash or supplies.
Pets are not expected to pose perfectly either. Sometimes their unpredictability creates the photograph everyone loves most.

Family collections include pre-session planning, gentle posing guidance, professional editing and high-resolution digital images delivered through a private online gallery.
Prices are published before you book. There are no hidden minimums, required product purchases or post-session sales appointments.
Extended-Family Sessions
Extended-family portraits can include grandparents, adult siblings, cousins and multiple household groups.
Because these sessions involve more people and combinations, they require additional planning and may need more time than an immediate-family session.
Before booking, please provide the total number of participants, the ages of the children and any mobility or accessibility needs. I will recommend the appropriate session structure and location.
