A Palm Desert Maternity Photographer Who Will Guide You Through Everything
Most people are not naturally comfortable in front of a camera. You do not need to arrive knowing how to stand, where to place your hands or what expression to make.
I will gently guide your posture, movement and positioning throughout the session. We will make small adjustments that flatter your body while allowing you to remain comfortable and look like yourself.
You will never be expected to perform or hold an uncomfortable position simply because it photographs well. We work at your pace and adjust for fatigue, temperature and physical comfort.
The goal is to help you feel welcomed, supported and genuinely beautiful—not overly posed or transformed into someone you do not recognize.
When Should You Schedule Maternity Portraits?
Maternity sessions are generally photographed between approximately 26 and 34 weeks of pregnancy.
This window often provides a visibly rounded belly while still allowing many mothers to move and pose comfortably. The ideal timing depends on your pregnancy, whether you are expecting multiples, your comfort and any guidance from your medical provider.
It is helpful to reserve your session earlier in pregnancy, particularly if you need an evening or weekend appointment. We can select a tentative date and adjust when appropriate.

Studio Maternity Sessions
A studio session offers privacy, controlled lighting and a quiet environment in which we can create polished, fine-art portraits.
Studio photography is an excellent choice if you are drawn to elegant gowns, fabric work, dramatic lighting or a more editorial finished look.
You will have a private place to change, and we can pause whenever you need to sit, rest or adjust your clothing.
Outdoor Maternity Sessions
The Coachella Valley offers beautiful desert landscapes, mountain views and soft evening light.
Outdoor sessions have a more natural, open feeling and provide room for movement and interaction with your partner or children. We will select the location and start time based on the season, lighting, accessibility and your comfort.
Because desert temperatures can be extreme, outdoor sessions are scheduled thoughtfully. Your well-being will always be more important than a particular location or visual concept.
What If I Do Not Feel Camera-Ready?
You do not need to wait until you feel perfectly rested, perfectly styled or perfectly confident.
Professional posing and lighting make an enormous difference. I will guide you through small, comfortable movements and photograph you from angles that complement your features and body.
Your photographs will be carefully edited and professionally retouched while still looking like you. The goal is refinement—not changing your identity or creating an unrealistic version of your pregnancy.
You are not responsible for knowing how to be photogenic. Guiding you is part of my job.
Maternity and Newborn Photography Together
A maternity and newborn collection allows us to preserve your journey from anticipation to arrival.
Booking both sessions together creates a consistent photographic story and removes one more decision from the first postpartum weeks. We will plan your maternity session during pregnancy and reserve space around your due date for the newborn session.
After your baby arrives, we will confirm the newborn date based on your recovery, your baby’s arrival and your family’s needs.
Can My Partner and Children Participate?
Yes. Maternity portraits may include your partner and children.
Including your family allows us to document the relationships surrounding your pregnancy—not only your changing body. We can create a combination of individual maternity portraits, photographs with your partner and images that include your children.
Young children are not expected to cooperate perfectly. I keep family portions of the session relaxed and efficient, allowing time for children to become comfortable before asking them to participate.
We will discuss who will attend before the session so I can plan the timing and styling appropriately.
What Will I Wear?
You do not need to purchase an entirely new wardrobe for your session.
My studio offers access to a curated collection of maternity gowns, fabrics and styling pieces. Before your session, we will discuss available options, your preferred colors, the amount of coverage you want and the overall feeling you would like the photographs to have.
You may also bring your own dress, fitted clothing, meaningful jewelry or another outfit that makes you feel like yourself.
Depending on your collection and comfort, your session may include more than one look. We will select outfits that work together so the finished gallery feels cohesive.
